Up for some friendly competition? The Elementary Mentor Coordinators are hosting the next Ice Cream Social, and are competing to see which coordinator will have the most mentors attend the event. So come out on April 10^th from 6:00pm to 7:30pm, and support Ms. Annie, Mrs. Jacque and Nicole.

The students will be taking the STAAR test on April 24, 25, and 26. Although this is the pilot year, please continue to lift up the boys and girls as they prepare to test. During testing, remember the campus is closed to visitors.

Spring break is March 12-16, 2012. Encourage your student to READ!

March 2 is Dr. Seuss' birthday!

To celebrate, it is the NEA's Read Across America Day!

Here's how you can be involved. Carr and Carver are looking for volunteers to read to a pre-k, kinder, 1st or 2nd grade class that morning. It will begin at 10am and last about 45 minutes. During this time, you will be the special guest for two different classes in the grade level you select and will read each class two Dr. Suess books.

Here are so pics from our Love in Diversity event. We had a great speaker, Mr. Dave Washington, some delicious food from around the world, and learned to say a few things in other languages!

Our world is growing more and more diverse and it is important to teach children about loving and respecting other cultures. For this reason Mercy Street is inviting elementary mentors, parents, and mentees to "Love in Diversity: God's Love for All People" on Saturday, February 18 from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm at Mercy Street. This special event is designed to teach us about the diversity of cultures in our neighborhood and world.
